Apple iPhone 4S Sales Off to a Limited Start

It would appear that the only company having a successful iPhone 4S launch is Verizon, because AT&T pre-sales still have not started (thirty minutes into October 7) and the Apple store remains down. Apple’s phone lines say that they’re too busy to take calls right now.

I’m sure the masses will be staying up all night, but I can’t imagine that many people are happy to have waited up this long and then continuing to experience this kind of delay.

Verizon Wireless Reports LTE 4G Outage

Earlier this morning Verizon finally acknowledged a problem with it’s 4G LTE network. Through their official Verizon Wireless Twitter account (@VerizonWireless), Verizon Wireless has reported that “We’re aware of an issue with #4G #LTE connections & our network engineers are working to resolve quickly. Will update here.” As a Verizon Thunderbolt customer, this is a wee-bit frustrating, with the most interesting read coming a few hours later: “Investigating 4G LTE network issue; ThunderBolts making voice calls, may get slower 1xRTT data. Will update here.”

Biggest Flop of 2010?

If the iPad is going to be singled out as one of the biggest successes of 2010, it’s also important to highlight the biggest flop of 2010, and without missing a beat I’d have to nominate the highly anticipated, completely unsuccessful, failure of Google Buzz.
